Firm Partner Gary Douglas secures verdict of $5.6 million against DuPont
Douglas & London partner Gary Douglas served as co-trial counsel with Mike Papantonio of the Levin Papantonio law firm and Rob Bilott of the Taft law firm, and together they secured a $ 5.6 million damages verdict against DuPont for dumping C8 into the drinking water and causing David Freeman’s testicular cancer. This verdict includes punitive damages after the jury found that DuPont acted with a “conscious disregard” for the health and well-being of those living in the Ohio River Valley.
This is in addition to the $1.6 million verdict secured by Douglas for Carla Bartlett last year for her C8 related injuries.
Settlement: $690,000,000.00: Pharmaceutical Products Liability
Our firm’s involvement and participation in the Zyprexa® product liability litigation yielded a $690 million settlement on behalf of approximately 8,000 injured plaintiffs, where law firm partner, Michael A. London played a pivotal role, holding the position of Vice-Chair of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee responsible for the groundbreaking settlement.

82-year-old woman presents to the emergency room, whose emergency room physicians, once having diagnosed a blocked ureter and back-up of urine as well as infection, failed to perform procedures to relieve these conditions.
