Product liability lawyer Lara J. Say is an attorney in New York, NY, and associate with the firm who is responsible for handling cases in the areas of complex products liability, with an emphasis on pharmaceutical litigation.

Ms. Say received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School where she was a member of the Journal of Law and Policy. Prior to law school, she attended the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill where she graduated with an honors degree in English and a minor in Chemistry.

Ms. Say began working for the firm when she moved from North Carolina to New York City and she quickly became a valued asset to the firm.  She focused her legal skills on the firm’s Yaz/Yasmin/Ocella litigation, where she spent countless hours representing innocent young women and adolescent girls who have suffered blood clots, pulmonary emboli, strokes and gallbladder disease as a result of their exposure to dangerous oral contraceptive pills manufactured, marketed and sold by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  Ms. Say was an integral part of the Yaz/Yasmin/Ocella team where she aided partners Gary J. Douglas and Stephanie O’Connor, as well as other plaintiff firms throughout the country, in overseeing the management of the key evidence found within the 90 million pages of documents produced by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and in assisting in over 25 depositions, conducted both in the United States and overseas.   She also coordinated and oversaw a majority of the expert witness process, including the service of expert reports and administration of plaintiff and defendant expert depositions.   The knowledge gained by Ms. Say aided plaintiffs nationwide in developing the case against Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and preparing the first group of bellwether cases for trial.

Ms. Say is also actively involved in representing individuals who have been diagnosed with bladder cancer or heart failure as a result of their ingestion of the anti-diabetic drug Actos. Additionally, Ms. Say represents individuals who have suffered severe bleeding events, heart attacks or acute coronary syndrome as a result of taking the anticoagulant, Pradaxa.

Ms. Say also represents hundreds of innocent children who have suffered birth defects as a result of their in utero exposure to certain anti-depressant drugs, such as Paxil, Zoloft, Prozac, Celexa, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Cymbalta and Effexor.

Ms. Say is admitted to practice law in the States of New York, New Jersey and North Carolina.  She is also admitted in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York and the District of New Jersey.

Ms. Say is an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA) and American Association of Justice (AAJ).
